A spot of fishing by Demmmmy A spot of fishing by Demmmmy
A Rorschach Sea sparrow off the coast of north Darvenja.

A typical example, most sea sparrows hunt by spotting their prey from above and then diving down after them like a gannet. Unlike birds, however, sea sparrows can chase their prey underwater for up to 3 hours (their lungs act as gills, but not perfectly and their oxygen supplies would need replenishing) and as such can hunt a wider variety of prey from deeper water.

They get their name from the mirrored black splodges on their backs, and each individual is unique.

Those tentacles look rather flimsy to carry the pumpfish...

The tube feet of sea urchins are surprisingly strong for their thickness, and if they were that thick, they would probably be able to carry a pumpfish.

Perhaps they do a little, but they are very strong and retractable, and the terminal pads are covered in tiny radulae to aid in grip.

very cool man. your designs have a unique quality to them, almost as if they are more machine than organic. excellent pic!

Funny you should say that, because many of my designs are, at their most basic, based on machines and man-made objects, then organic elements are added onto the design to make them believable creatures.
And thank you.
